Global Warming

The term environment (Etymologically) means surrounding objects or circumstances, in which the organisms live. The surroundings include biotic (living) & abiotic (Non-Living) components include inorganic elements & compounds such as water (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO), calcium & oxygen, carbonates & phosphates & an array of organic compounds, the by-products of organism’s activity or death & the physical factors such as soil, rainfall, light, temperature, moisture, wind, currents & solar radiation. The biotic environmental factors comprise plants, animals & microbes. All of which interact with each other in energy dependent fashion.

The environment may be defined as the total of physical, chemical & biological conditions surrounding the organism or scientifically, the environment in the area or surroundings in which the living organisms live & interact with the non-living things as well as living things in the particular area which perform their important activities of life.

“Global Warming” a single word which makes the whole human beings of a planet earth to think for sometimes about the future. This is the only term which has lead to loss of sleep of many developed & powerful countries. What does this term means? This is the only question asked by a layman by which one can try to stop its effects. Let us try to know that what does this term “Global Warming” means?
It means our planet is hot and ill! The rise in our body temperature is called fever; when the same happens to the earth’s atmosphere and oceans, it is called global warming.
              Global Warming

It is that stage, where the global temperature is increased by certain degrees & in turn which leads to loss of life & also which motivates to undergo harmful changes in the environment. But, what are the harmful changes in environment? This will be known only by facing the problems in future. But many of the scholars have predicted that the effect of this global warming will be highly effective which even cannot be imagined by any of the living being – even by the most powerful living being of this world i.e., MAN.

It is universally expected that Human Beings are the whole & sole reason for the cause of this long term disaster. But, now how to overcome the effect of this & how to make this planet Earth, fit to live for further generation is a big question? The main reason for Global Warming is “Human Activities” which are focused on development but in turn which leads to long term disaster.

As mentioned in the above lines Global warming refers to the increase of temperature by certain degrees. This increase of temperature into certain degrees leads to many harmful environmental changes such as; melting of ice, increase in atmospheric temperature, low rainfall, scarcity of water etc…

One can say that the melting of ice can increase the water level. Yes, it can, but very important point to be noticed is - what type of water level? The effect of global warming increases the sea water level due to which today the sea water level is increased & it is predicted that many of the island countries such as; Japan, Australia. Sri Lanka etc…will be immersed in the sea & their existence will be disappeared totally from the global earth.

Now the situation is same as if a big ball is kept on a highly lit fire. Many efforts are being taken to compress the blowing fire. But all the efforts are negligible due to high impact of the effect of Global Warming.
Measures to avoid global warming is not only a responsibility of a nation but, it is the whole & sole responsibility of each & every individual to join the hands & avoid this long term disaster.

A common measure to avoid this global warming will be planting more trees in our surroundings - nowadays which had got some what good response from the people living in the metros. But now, the standard of living of people in metros has again increased the risk of global warming. The standard of constructing the houses, buildings & shopping malls are increasing the risk of Global Warming.

Following constructions are instance for this:

In the above photos we can see that the building is designed with the glass in front of the building. This type of exterior decorative gives an attractive look for the building. But, at the mean while it also contributes to global warming by the following ways:
1)   Due to the reflection of glasses if there are any buildings situated to the opposite side of this building then, there will be increase of room temperature of that building.
2)   If there is any accidents inside the buildings then this decorative leads to mass destruction inside the building.
3)   There will be no proper ventilation due to use of this kind of exterior decorative in turn which leads to humidity inside the building.
So, it is the whole & sole responsible of each & every individual to see construct the buildings which can do no harm to environment. The classical instance for this type of building in our locality is shown below:

The above shown photographs are of Police Bhavan of Gulbarga constructed by State Government of Karnataka. Due to the presence of garden there is cool temperature inside the building in turn which leads to low use of electricity by which it can be saved.

By the below photo we conclude this introduction to global warming by a message of the below displayed photo:
